Alexandria Bed and Breakfast

A beautiful and gracious home built in 1905 as a gentleman’s residence, Alexandria sits elegantly on the banks of the Inglis River, 1.5km from the centre of Wynyard and in close proximity to the Burnie Airport. Constructed over a period of 10 years, on the site of an early settlement of the same name, it is typical of the federation architecture and one of the finest examples on the North West Coast. Converted to a guest house in 1968, the gracious home is surrounded by beautiful gardens, with the warm and inviting guest rooms overlooking the river, swimming pool and barbecue area.

Alexandria has five charming guest rooms, all with private en-suites. The main house caters for three couples, in two queen and one double room, which overlook the beautiful gardens and Inglis River. The comfortable cottage has two private rooms, both with river and garden views. All rooms have tea and coffee facilities, heating, television, wireless internet and the use of a laundry. The tariff also includes a continental or cooked breakfast, which may be served in the garden or dining room.

Available for weddings, cooking schools and functions followed by high tea, guests can experience the historic and tranquil surroundings and great personal service provided by Rachel, the perfect hostess.
